shop picks for late winter

Late winter in Portland can be confusing weather-wise, with alternating days of sunshine then freezing rain (and maybe snow? probably not) so I tend to favor comfort as my chosen mode of dressing. Oh yeah, and a good book and cup of tea for when I really just don't feel like going outside.
Here are my picks from the shop this week:
This James Street Co. Lowe thick cotton knit sweater in cobalt. This chunky knit is so soft and easy to throw on, and the color is incredible (come see it in person!). I love a chunky knit sweater over a dress or skirt for this time of year, then add some tights and boots and you are ready to hang out anywhere in Portland.

My afternoon tea this week has been Raazi Tea's Ginger Turmeric Blend. Because my pre-shop opening diet consisted mostly of bread and cheese, I've been adding Heilbron Herbs Digestive Bitters to my tea while my stomach gets back in order. It works surprisingly well and its a tincture that I am going to have to keep on hand because I'm sure I'll have unhealthy episodes again (probably in the near future).

And of course, for those rainy afternoon I always need a book around to stop me from staring at my phone. We just got in copies of Wild Dark Shore, by Charlotte McConaghy. It's a thriller about a family living in isolation on a remote island when a mysterious woman washes ashore, and I'm ready to read about secrets, plot twists, and dark stormy nights. Stop by the shop and let me know what you're reading this week!
